KEEP SHOOTING
Fez Morocco
Whenever
possible, keep shooting is my motto. There's often more than one composition
in any given situation. Such was the case in the medieval Fez Medina,
a buzzy place to be, as well as a difficult place to shoot.
Gadzillion people moving briskly in narrow streets, changing light levels,
mule caravans careening along pushing one aside for safety, all combine
to challenge the photographer hoping to isolate subjects. A vendor pushing
fez hats allowed me to photograph him against a tile wall.
Due
to the hub-bub around me I was tempted to stop after the overall shot,
but I knew there were more images to be had here. Staying with the Canon
28-135mm lens, I simply zoomed in closer and closer, tried some unusual
angles, and prayed that the pop-up flash would not blast off the shiny
tiles.
I
lucked out, and yes, bought a hat.
